Creating a CV should not be another source of stress when you are looking for work. Job hunting can feel overwhelming, especially if you do not have an up-to-date CV, are unsure how to phrase your experience, or cannot afford paid CV-writing services.
Nobody should have to pay just to put themselves forward for a job. We built this tool with four recruiter-standard UK templates so you can put together a clear, polished CV that represents your skills, character, and potential.
Work through each section at your own pace and download your finished CV in PDF or Microsoft Word format without paying a penny. Everything you type stays privately on your own device.
"Your past does not determine your potential. Everyone deserves the chance to move forward."
Employment gaps, career changes, or difficult periods do not define your abilities. You never need to disclose personal health information on a CV. Focus on the strengths and reliability you bring today.
How It Works: Simple 4-Step Guide
No account needed. Your progress saves automatically in your browser.Pick a UK Layout
Select one of the 4 layouts below. Use Classic Clarity or Modern Executive for standard roles, or Skills-First Functional if you have career gaps or limited work history.
Type or Click Examples
Work through the tabs on the left at your own pace. Click Load Example CV to start from a full sample, or click the phrasing buttons inside each step to insert ready-written sentences.
Review & Arrange
Watch your A4 CV update live on the right as you type. In Step 7 (Download), you can tick or untick sections to hide anything you do not need and move sections up or down.
Download PDF or Word
Click Download PDF and select "Save as PDF" in the destination menu for a ready-to-send A4 document, or click Word (.doc) to open and edit your CV in Microsoft Word.
Step 1: Select a CV Format
You can switch between all four layouts at any point without losing anything you have typed.
Step 2: Contact Details
Include your name, town or city, phone number, and email address. Under UK recruitment best practice, you do not need to include your full street address, date of birth, marital status, or health details.
Step 3: Personal Profile
A concise 3 to 4 line introduction at the top of your CV. Select any template below to insert professional wording, then adjust it to match your own experience.
Step 4: Employment History
List your most recent role first. Include full-time, part-time, temporary, or voluntary roles. Each line you write in the responsibilities box will automatically format as a clean bullet point on your CV.
If you have had time out of employment for health, caring, study, or personal reasons, you do not need to disclose medical details. If you wish to include a brief, professional explanation, choose an example below:
Step 5: Core Skills & Voluntary Experience
Select skills below to add them to your CV, or type your own separated by commas. Employers value reliability, clear communication, and teamwork just as highly as technical qualifications.
Step 6: Education, Training & References
Include school or college qualifications, workplace certificates (such as First Aid, Food Hygiene, Health and Safety, or CSCS), and short courses.
Step 7: Section Order & Free Download
Tick or untick sections to show or hide them, adjust their order if needed, and download your finished CV free of charge.
